The Hypercube
Every story on this site, placed inside a four-dimensional cube. Each axis is a dimension of the data: when it was published, what it's about, how long it is and which decade it looks back to. A screen only has two dimensions, so the cube is projected down, the same way a cube's shadow is a square. As it turns through the fourth dimension, stories drift towards you and away.
Drag to turn it. Swap the dimensions on each axis to pivot. Use the slice to keep one layer of the fourth dimension. Click a dot to read the story. It's the same idea as my Blender add-on that turns a filesystem into an OLAP cube, with one more dimension.
